There are a lot of things I love about my life in Manchester. Winter, however, is not one of them. Easily one of the windiest, rainiest cities in the UK, December to March is absolutely cruel. It goes dark anywhere between 3 and 5pm massively curbing your social life, the chilly wind stings your skin if you’re bundled up in any less then seven layers of clothing making you look two dress sizes larger than you are, the streets are often icy so you can’t wear your cute new shoes and the rain puts a massive damper on all your hard work with your hair straightener that morning.

.

The grey weather tends to play tricks on your mind, too, leaving you feeling blue and that often tends to reflect in my clothing choices. The past couple of months have seen a steady palette of greys, blacks and navies in my wardrobe, punctuated with a bit of burgundy on a good day. However, the dog days are almost over now and I’m slowly but surely starting to introduce a little colour into my wardrobe like a deer learning how to walk. And I couldn’t think of a better colour to start with than that of some of my favourite things in the world – peonies, rose flavoured macarons, cherry blossoms, rosé, strawberry ice cream and this little munchkin playing in the snow.

.

It started with a blush beanie and graduated to a rose quartz scarf, but with the onset of March, I’m taking a bold step into spring with a bubblegum pink coat by Parisian brand Cameron Kham. I love how it manages to remain functional by keeping me super warm but is still bang on trend with its sleeveless silhouette and is such a great conversation starter.

.

It also couldn’t have arrived at a better time. You see, I may have a teeny tiny piece of exciting news to share…James and I are going to Paris this weekend to celebrate his birthday and our one year wedding anniversary!

.

I’ve always wanted to visit Paris ever since I was a little girl and have been planning my perfect Parisian capsule wardrobe ever since we booked our flights. Spoiler alert – expect a whole lot more pink! I can’t wait to share all the pictures from our trip with you. Till then, stay tuned for updates on Instagram and Snapchat. A tout a l’heure!
